About The Programme
The BSc (Hons) Financial Economics programme ensures that the economics graduates stay ahead of the industry by acquiring technological skills such as quantitative exposure to analytical models, big-data analysis, forecasting, etc. In its new and improved structure in 2021, students will be trained in the application of powerful economics and finance theories, have access to concepts translated as operational models with powerful software to apply to real data, and more emphasis on technology-driven training.
Most academic degrees in economics can no longer keep up with the rapid-pace of changing job demands as technology rapidly changes the work environment. Industry experts have pointed to this in a hidden message – the versatility of the skill sets to succeed in the various industrial sectors is lacking in graduates. With a BFE degree, graduates will be able to learn economics at a higher level as business analytics with the aid of powerful software and expensive data available in the campus. Their specialized training starts in SU in analytics-driven approach to learn economics for business decision-making. Their training transfers to jobs as ready skills for analysis of businesses, industries, product markets essential in modern firms. Government statistics also show BFE graduates earn higher starting salaries than their peers in other disciplines or other institutions.
