If you want to pursue a higher degree by research but do not hold an honours degree or equivalent, this course can be your qualifying degree. You’ll undertake approved research projects for a specified period under the supervision of at least two academic staff members.

Course Structure
This course consists of a combination of coursework and research. In the coursework component you’ll develop advanced theoretical and/or technical knowledge of your area of research focus. In the research component you’ll develop research methodologies appropriate to your focus and plan and execute a research project under the individual guidance of an academic supervisor. The total course comprises 48 points including coursework (12 points) and research (36 points).
Entry Requirements
To apply for the Postgraduate Diploma in Biomedical Science, you must have completed at least one of the following:
a bachelor’s degree from a three-year full-time program in a relevant field, with an average of 60% or higher in at least 24 points of third-year-level relevant units, and have not attempted honours in that field
qualifications deemed equivalent by the University.
